2020 Changes

Happy New Year from Professional Elevator Inspections, Inc. (PEI).

We wanted to inform you of changes in requirements effective January 1, 2020 from the State of Colorado Division of Oil and Public Safety.

New Enforcement – The Category 1 test (also known as the annual safety test, which is performed by your elevator maintenance contractor) must be performed within 120 days prior to the Certificate of Operation expiration date. If not compliant this will result in a Temporary Certificate of Violation (TCO) which you will have 60 days to correct.

New Regulation – Emergency telephone communication must be tested quarterly. This is something that should be completed with your monthly fire service testing. If you currently utilize PEI for monthly fire service testing, this will be automatically tested.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to continuing to work with you and meeting your elevator inspection needs.

Thank you,

Professional Elevator Inspections, Inc.
